NOVEMBER, 2019 WORD OF THE MONTH:
HONOR: LETTING SOMEONE KNOW YOU SEE HOW VALUABLE THEY REALLY ARE.
MAT CHAT TOPIC OF THE MONTH:
GRATITUDE MEANS THAT WE APPRECIATE WHAT WE DO HAVE INSTEAD IF BEING SAD ABOUT WHAT WE DON'T! IT MEANS THAT WE LOOK FOR WAYS TO BE HAPPY INSTEAD OF WAYS TO BE SAD.
DEAR PARENTS AND/OR GUARDIANS:
Since November is the month of Thanksgiving, we are learning about gratitude! However, this is a skill that should be developed throughout the year. A grateful attitude will ultimately contribute to their success and wellbeing as adults, so it is important to foster this trait while they are young.
HOW CAN YOU HELP??
** Model Gratitude For Them In Your Words And Actions.
Remember to tell your child thank you when he or she helps out!
** Teach Them To Notice And Appreciate The Small Things.
A pretty bird, a cool bug, a rainbow, a sunset, etc.
**Volunteer As A Family!
Spend the day working in a soup kitchen, or take your child with you to the store to pick out canned goods to donate to a food drive. Especially around this time of year, nonprofits need extra help.
Explain to your child that you are grateful for what you have and want to share with others in need.
HAVE A GREAT MONTH!!
